A short biography
Being a musician by trade I got to know the Alexander Technique during my studies at the conservatory in Arnhem, NL. I took private lessons with Eva Karczag and was introduced to Contact Improvisation as well as other movement practices. I fell madly in love with touch and movement, and understood pretty quickly that I wanted to attend the Alexander Technique teachers’ training program. So I moved to Berlin and have lived here since.
In September 2013 I received my diploma from the School For The Alexander Technique Berlin, led by Dan Armon.
My experience and knowledge of the moving body and my teaching is strongly influenced by the Alexander Technique, Klein Technique, my meditation practice and by working intensively with my many wonderful teachers like Dan Armon, Eva Karczag, Friederike Tröscher, Hanna Hegenscheidt, Jens Johannsen, Joerg Hassmann, Susanne Middendorf, Susan Klein, Yoyo van der Kooi, and so many more.
I teach CI internationally, I curate and organize the Moving Body events in Berlin, and I produce the annual intensive for the School For The Alexander Technique, Berlin.
My work as production manager for the independent dance and theatre scene includes engagements with ATCB Alexander Technique Centre Berlin, Britta Wirthmüller, Buero Boragno, Europäische Theaterakademie GmbH “Konrad Ekhof” for Bundeswettbewerb Biennale Tanzausbildung, FELD Theater für junges Publikum, Hanna Hegenscheidt, Joerg Hassmann, Martin Nachbar, May Zarhy, Sasha Waltz & Guests, sauerbrey | raabe gUG for Performing RomArchive Festival, The Shakespeare Company Berlin, WILSON*BORLES Arts Management for Tanzkongress Hannover, wirbeide -Künstlerinnenkollektiv, among others.
